Capraia - Chianti Classico Riserva 2019
Wine Spectator: 95 Points
Smooth and round, this red is as much about texture and balance as it is cherry, strawberry and floral aromas and flavors. Shows a terrific, well-integrated structure that lends intensity and fine grip on the long, mineral-tinged finish. Best from 2025 through 2040.

The 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva pours a saturated magenta color and is flush with ripe fruit and woodsy spice, offering notes of forest herbs, pine needles, blackberries, and sweet toasted cedar. Approachable and juicy on the palate, it’s full-bodied and has a fresh spine of acidity beneath its more opulent, plush, ripe fruit and supple texture, with a bit of iron-rich earth on the finish. It’s drinking well now, but it should improve with another year or two in bottle. Drink 2025-2034.
Vinous Media: 91 Points
The 2019 Chianti Classico Riserva is a potent, brooding wine. Black cherry, chocolate, new leather, torrefaction, tobacco, incense and scorched earth add to an impressive of somber intensity. This powerhouse Riserva could use another year or two in bottle, but I imagine it will always be quite the bomb.
